It's Ok To Fail But Don't Give Up : How To Deal With Setbacks...

I remember when I started LEP Fitness 6.5 years ago…

I’d left the university bubble and had my financial security taken away from me –  no more student loan! lol!

Luckily, when I left uni my dad helped me with some extra rent whilst I got up and running, and Sally had a full time job back then as a nanny.

We were skint though, living off £8 per hour (between 2 people!) and I had to start a business from scratch with 0 experience in business!

I remember feeling totally overwhelmed at times…

  • How do I get clients without spending money on advertising?
  • What if I fail?
  • What legal requirements are there for running a business? Qualifications, insurance, etc – and how much do they cost because I’m skint AF lol!

I felt like giving up after 3 months because nothing was moving and I didn’t have many clients (I think I had 2 people!) and was making £50 per week – I’d be bankrupt and living on the streets if this continued.

There were so many thoughts buzzing around my head and some very difficult times but I persisted and kept going…

I tried things….

FAILED.

Then tried something else…

FAILED.

Tried something else…

SUCCESS.

This path of learning is something I’m used to now and during the first year of business I learned some of my  most valuable lessons.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and how difficult changing your life can be.

I work with people in the same boat, people who’ve tried to lose weight for years but haven’t succeeded or haven’t managed to sustain it.

My advice to those who are struggling is to JUST START…

GO FOR IT.

ACCEPT that you will FAIL.

There will be tough times.

BUT…

If you keep going and persist you will get there.

For those struggling with fitness and weight loss start by working out this week…

Do 4 x 15-20 minute exercise sessions, whether that’s a workout DVD or fitness class, or a home workout – JUST DO SOMETHING. It doesn’t have to be the perfect workout, just take action.

Set yourself a goal and get moving, learn along the way, and keep going and you’ll eventually end up at your destination.

Stop trying to be perfect, and don’t be afraid to fail (we all fail!) the most successful people in the world fail – far more than the average person, it’s one of the traits that makes them stand out and succeed…

THEY PERSIST.

Have the courage to follow your dreams and achieve your goals, set your sights high (don’t limit yourself) and don’t worry too much about the journey, each step will be revealed over time and have faith in yourself that you will eventually get there.

Sending you the best of luck on your journey…

Be brave…

YOU CAN DO IT.
